The manufacture of stainless steel tubes and fittings has an impact on the environment through the consumption of resources and the generation of waste and emissions. At ISOTUBI, we have been working in accordance with ISO 14001 for many years to systematically monitor, manage and reduce these impacts.

Our aim is to make environmental management an integral part of our day-to-day operations, rather than treating it simply as a requirement for an annual audit.

What is ISO 14001?

ISO 14001 is an internationally recognised standard for environmental management systems. It helps companies identify, assess, control and continuously reduce the environmental impacts associated with their activities.

In practice, this means establishing appropriate monitoring mechanisms, setting specific environmental objectives, tracking relevant indicators and regularly reviewing the results to identify opportunities for improvement.

For an industrial company, this covers areas such as energy and water consumption, waste management, the use of raw materials and other resources, and the monitoring of production processes.

What does it mean in practice?

ISO 14001 requires companies to identify and assess the environmental aspects associated with their activities and to take appropriate action based on the information obtained.

In our case, this means keeping detailed waste records, monitoring energy and water consumption, and regularly analysing the data — not only when an audit is approaching.

This is not a system that is addressed just once a year. Our environmental objectives are regularly reviewed, non-conformities are addressed through specific corrective actions, and all identified environmental aspects are systematically monitored.

Where does it make a difference?

· Systematic waste monitoring, with particular attention to hazardous waste.

· Monitoring of energy and water consumption across the different production areas.

· Regular process reviews aimed at reducing waste and improving energy efficiency.

· Measurable environmental objectives rather than mere statements of intent.

More than just a certificate

The certificate itself is not what matters most. What really matters is ensuring that environmental management is fully integrated into the day-to-day operation of our production facility — rather than confined to a folder that is opened only when an audit takes place.

That is what we aim to achieve through ISO 14001: reliable data, continuous monitoring and demonstrable improvements — rather than measures that exist only on paper.
